The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT Kanpur), was established in 1959 by the Government of India. Founded under the mission of collaborating with foreign countries to maintain science and technological progress, IIT Kanpur works to conduct new research and lead technological innovation to support growth within India. IIT Kanpur has nine Engineering departments and separate departments for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Humanities, each of which offer both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
