Indian Institute of Technology, Madras

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras), was established in 1959 through an Indo-German agreement in which the German Government agreed to provide technical assistance for the founding of an engineering institute in India. IIT Madras offers course-based and research-based degree programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Its 16 departments cover subjects such as Biotechnology, Engineering Design, and Ocean Engineering.
