University of California, Los Angeles
Considered one of the flagship schools within the University of California system, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is located in Brentwood, a neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. Founded in 1882, the university is made up of five undergraduate colleges, seven professional schools, and five professional health sciences schools. There are nearly 40,000 students in over 300 academic programs. Alumni have gone on to become Nobel laureates, Fields medalists, and Turing award winners. The school boasts a strong sports program having sent at least one athlete to represent the United States in every Summer Olympic game since 1928.
